More about the Potters
Who We Are
Teagan McMeekin
Beige Basement Potter
Hey there! I'm Teagan, a ceramicist based right here in Saskatoon. You know, I'm all about bringing simple, fun, and contemporary pottery to the table. There's just something magical about shaping clay with my hands and seeing it transform into something beautiful. But you know what's even better? Connecting with others over art. Whether it's sharing stories in the studio or bonding over a shared love for ceramics, I find so much joy in those connections.
But hey, art isn't my only passion. I'm also a proud wife and mom of two amazing kiddos. As a family, we're all about embracing the great outdoors and exploring nature together. There's nothing quite like a hike in the woods or a day spent by the lake to recharge and reconnect.
So, that's a little glimpse into who I am. Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me a bit better!
Marea Olafson
Freba Pottery
Hey friend! I'm Marea, and I've been knee-deep in the world of wheel-thrown functional pottery for the past two decades. It's been quite the journey, let me tell you! My mantra? "Take your passion and make it happen." Those words have guided me through every twist and turn, leading me to where I am today.
In 2023, my husband and our two daughters decided to make a big move back to Wynyard, my hometown. We were lucky enough to purchase my grandmother's heritage house, which has been a dream come true. With this newfound space and opportunity, I decided to take a leap of faith and open my own honour system highway store.
But that's not all! I also created Elemental Claycation, an immersive pottery retreat right in the heart of our home. It's a place where pottery enthusiasts from near and far can come together to learn, create, and connect. And let me tell you, seeing the joy and inspiration that comes from these retreats is truly the highlight of my day.
So that's a little peek into my world. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a bit better!
